Outside of but certainly not unrelated to any business area are subjects that define a fit into larger things.  Some of these may be more directly related to business than others.  Management and leadership, for example, are important aspects of consulting and team related services, while spiritual topics may not seem related at all.  However, we all have places and relationships within our smaller and larger cultures, within our physical universe, and within what we believe exists beyond the physical.  I refer to these areas collectively as metabusiness: topics that are beyond or in addition to basic business focused topics.

It is of little importance to me to determine how much or how little each has to do with business.  In older days, great men didn’t concern themselves with compartmentalizing like we tend to in western culture today.  They merely pursued knowledge and understanding in all areas that interested them and that they thought were important and valuable.  The greatest men limited themselves the least.  Many great men are known for one or more particular areas in which they were especially innovative or ahead of their time, but the more one looks into the lives and activities of such men as Benjamin Franklin, Blaise Pascal, Isaac Newton, Leonard da Vinci, and countless others, one finds not lives of focus on specific subjects but students of all things.  Pascal is equally famous for disproving the old “law of nature” stating that “nature abhors a vacuum” as he is for describing the basic human drive for fulfillment as a God shaped hole in the heart.  I cannot and do not claim to be in or near the same league or company as these great men, but I honor their polymath outlook on all things and continue the great tradition in my small way in this section of this website with my musings and your interaction.

People

I have divided this metabusiness section into four sub-sections.  One I have entitled simply “people.”  This subsection is to hold all things to do with people such as personal development, leadership, and similar subjects.  I fancy myself something of an analytical observer of people and enjoy theorizing over them.  Hopefully you will enjoy participating.

The Natural

Another subsection I have entitled simply “the natural.”  By this I mean all things in the natural world and universe we inhabit, not merely wild things in wild places.  I believe in good stewardship of the things we have to use until we deliver it to our children, so this area may tend a bit toward “tree hugging.”  However, I fancy myself well balanced and practical, so don’t expect extreme things in either direction.  Hopefully you will find these discussions revolving around interesting possibilities and enlightening perspectives.

The Supernatural

The next subsection I have entitled “the supernatural.”  As it implies, this area is for those things beyond the natural.  I will be considered closed minded by some in what you will find in this section.  While I believe that each person has his own journey to make and must make that journey for himself, I am quite comfortable and confident with the path I have traveled and where I find myself on my continuing journey.  I freely acknowledge that EVERY revelation from the supernatural into the natural, whether deposited directly into our hearts or minds, or transmitted to individuals for conveyance to others cannot help but be considerably flattened upon entry into the natural, and is therefore limited in “accuracy” or “completeness” in what it can tell us of the supernatural, in addition to being open to interpretation.  One cannot adequately describe color to beings that inhabit a colorless world.  Any attempt to do so may produce desires to see and know color, but while the desire is real and valid, the idea or concept of virtually every being in which that desire is embodied is likely to be completely inaccurate when compared to what color truly represents.  How could it be otherwise?

So, with such a foundation, I will say that this area is not intended to be an exploration of everyone’s journey, or an unbiased presentation of supernatural possibilities.  Topics and discussions in this area very much represent my own journey and place along that journey as well as my own interpretation of what the supernatural may turn out to be in reality.  However, I am not alone on this journey or in this place.  At every step along the journey I find others who have been previously been where I find myself and others who are there currently.  It is for those kindred travelers, and for those who are bit further back in the journey and wish to find their way through perils earlier travelled that this section is primarily for.

Creatively Personal

It may be a bit egotistical to include in this website, but this subsection holds things that are about me and my own and things that come from me without the somewhat impersonal and purely analytical or informational nature that topics in other areas may take.  Sorry, but that's the best you get as far as a guide of what to expect to find in this subsection.
